Devin Basye, Alice Bird, Terry Blackstone, Roger Briney, Allen Bryant, Judy Cook, Cindi deCapiteau, Dan Gotthardt, Sharon Jones, Jeff Newsome, Anna Rundall, Beverly Townshend, Pam Townshend, Nancy Wagner, Aaron Wilson and Nick Wilson were excused.

Minutes of the
IV: Treasurer’s Report – Jeanne Widenmyer provided the Treasurer’s Report (encl 3) through July 2007. Income for the past month was $19,421.51; disbursements $1,352.82. David Rundall made a motion the report be accepted as submitted. Danny Jackson seconded the motion. Motion carried.
V: Captain’s Report – David Rundall
1. Will be out of commission for a few weeks for medical reasons.
2. MASS CASUALTY Pocket Guides will be on each unit.
VI: Vice President’s Report – Larry Wagner; need to address the life pack contract soon.
VII: 1st Lieutenant’s Report – Ed Gotthardt
1. Have ordered radio batteries costing approximately $700.00.
2. Janice Kauffman, Nick Wilson and myself plan to attend Task Force Training.
3. Plan to attend VA Volunteer Rescue Squad District Meeting this coming
Saturday afternoon in Deltaville.
4. Cadets will be having a car wash this Saturday, 11 August, starting at 0900.
VIII: Vehicle Officer’s Report – Herbert Fowler
1. All vehicles are running good at this time.
2. Will be replacing the mirrors on Unit 48.
IX: Training Officer’s Report – Janice Kauffman
1. Squad Training for MASS CASUALTY is scheduled for 1600 – 1730 hours, Sunday, 12 August, at this building.

3. Callao Firemen’s Festival is scheduled for 20 October. See Ed for details.
4. Need to know right away if anyone is interested in attending the upcoming

5. As of now, the MASS CASUALTY drill is set for 15 September. Need to have everyone
available for that.

X: Building Committee – Paul Ryan and Ed Gotthardt; discussed previous issue of moving pipe and repairing roof to correct leak. David Rundall moved we give the President authority to spend up to $300.00 for repairs without further action. Ed Gotthardt seconded the motion. Motion carried.
XI: President’s Report – Dan Townshend; have not made a final decision on driveway and parking lot repair. Have received one bid for resealing. We need to determine whether resealing will solve the problem of if we should repave.
XII: Membership – Linda Wilson; background checks are in on Heather Cook and Kay Majors-Guy. Paul Ryan made a motion to suspend the waiting period on these candidates. Diane Jackson seconded the motion. Motion carried. Both are approved as probationary members.

XIII: Cadet Report (encl 4) -
1. Will be selling hot dogs and nachos at the car wash this Saturday.
2. Cadets are planning two dances this year; one in September and one in October.
XIV: Auxiliary Report – Linda Wilson; bake sales are scheduled for 21 September and 16 November. The chicken dinner is now scheduled for 7 October.
XV: Old Business:
1. Have obtained some new vests; think we need at least 20 more. Ed will check with Devin on this. They must be VDOT approved. Paul Ryan made a motion that
the line officers get together and determine how many vests are needed, and order them. Rebekah Haynie seconded the motion. Motion carried.
2. Paul Ryan reported he had researched a new sign for out front. Believe the cost will be approximately $3,200.00 for a sign that lights. Would like
members to give this some thought and possibly come to a decision at the next meeting.
XVI: New Business –
1. Angela Yerby announced that Edwadsville Day is scheduled for 8 September.
The parade will begin at 1300. She invited everyone to participate. Questioned whether Mid-County would be covering this year.
2. Question was raised whether Mid-County would be covering local football games this fall.

Angela Yerby questioned whether Mid-County could stand by for the
Walk/Run
A-thon for Christ on Saturday, 18 August. Participants
will leave
Macedonia
Janice will post sign up sheets for these events.
4. Melvin Cockrell said that the Cadets are requesting permission to visit vulnerable area residents to do BP checks, check on their medications, and ensure
they know what measures to take to get emergency help if needed. He said the Cadets would like to do something to promote Mid-County in the community.
They would like to start this program in September.
5. Ed Gotthardt suggested designating one day a month where residents could come to the building for BP checks. He stressed that, if the program was
put in place, we would have to be absolutely sure manpower was available to carry it out.
6. Janice Kauffman suggested purchasing wipe off boards; medications could be listed and affixed to the refrigerator. Herb Fowler made a motion that
300 boards be purchased. Rebekah Haynie seconded the motion. Motion carried.
A decision was not reached on the Cadet’s request.
7. Dan Townshend reported that the Auxiliary will be holding their picture fundraiser soon. The three year contract will expire this year.
Auxiliary requests permission to enter into another three year contract. Herb Fowler made a motion that permission be granted. Janice Kauffman
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
