April 7, 2004 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:30 pm.

I - Nancy called meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report

Minutes posted. Herb made a motion to accept the minutes and Roger seconded the motion. They were adopted .

III - Treasurer's Report

Herb made a motion and Dave seconded it to accept the report. All approved.

IV - Captain's Report

  1. February and March run report have been posted. Total number of calls for the year is 123.
  2. Standby: Soccer April 21 and 28 th. Sign up sheet circulating .
  3. Clean up detail: Clean gutters-Paul Ryan made a motion to ask Rob Hinton since he is in the gutter business. Rebekah seconded the motion and will ask Rob.
  4. Fence: Crew put up the fence to keep parking off drain field. Many thanks to Ed G., Jim, Jeff, Auxiliary members, and anyone else who helped.
  5. Northumberland Emergency Management Team: Captain gave report on the county’s activities regarding the emergency dispatch system.
  6. Mike Marcon has certified as a Cardiac Technician.
  7. RGH BBQ Bash is on Friday May 21, from 5:30-9:30pm at the Beacon  in Topping.
  8. Training Opportunity: April 24 in Lottsburg--cross-agency extrication drill. All fire & rescue in Northumberland are invited. Captain wants a good turnout from Mid-County.
  9. Auto-Pulse CPR System: Asked Sturgis Kidder to come to our meeting in May and give us a demo of this chest-compression machine. Cost is $13,700.00 each. Financing is available.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • None.

VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report

  • Job to repair station roof is being scheduled.

VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report

  • New lancets for obtaining glucometry blood samples are now onboard both ambulances. Demonstrated how they work.

VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report

  • #48 is being run more. No problems.

IX - Auxiliary's Report

  • Bingo to be May 7 and Chicken Dinner on May 16. Bake Sale on April 3 was very successful- made $631.00 .

X - Building Committee Report

  • None.

XI - President's Report

  • A $500.00 donation was given to Mid-Co. Rescue Squad from Middle Bay Realty.

XII - Old Business

  • None.

XIII - New Business

  1. Jean B. Widenmyer is willing to be treasurer (as an Administrative member under new by-laws). Will vote on her at next meeting .
  2. Herb located rescue tags for squad members vehicles that are customized with “Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad”. He can get 50 for $281.00. Garfield made a motion to purchase them and Cindi seconded it.

XIV - Training Committee Report

  • Dave provided a demonstration of the new lancets.

XV - Cadet Report

  • Beverly introduced Amber and Cori Harris who are interested in joining Mid-County as cadets.
