April 6, 2005 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:35pm.
I - Nancy called meeting to order.
II - Secretary's Report
Minutes posted. Dave made a motion to accept the minutes and Larry seconded the motion. They were adopted.
III - Treasurer's Report
Cindi made a motion and Dave seconded it to accept the report. All approved.
IV - Captain's Report
  • March call report totaled 31 calls. There were 129 calls for the year.
  • Postponed the Open House originally schedule for May.
  • We are not licensed to transport deceased to Funeral Homes.
  • Family Fun Day at Northumberland Library in Heathsville is sponsored by the YMCA on April 30, 2005 from 2PM – 5 PM .
  • A meeting to renew the Callao/Mid-County Mutual Aid Agreement is to be held 4/7/05 by Dave Rundall and Billy Yeatman.
  • Dave to be out of town from 4/14/05 for a period of 2 weeks

V - Vice-President's Report

  • The Suburban to be delivered 4/8/05. Cost for Vehicle is $30,196.20.

VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • None.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • Farm Machinery Extraction – April 9 & 10, starting at 9 AM at RGH will be attended by Wesley Brown, Terry Blackstone, Christy Connell and Nick Wilson.
  • Search and Rescue, April 15, 16 & 17. Will be attended by Wesley Brown.
  • CPR this month for Bird, Blackstone, Briney, Brown, Bryant, Butler,deCapiteau, Fowler, Hughes, Loving, Marcon, D. Parker, G. Parker, Ryan & Yerby.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • None.
IX - Auxiliary's Report
  • Bake Sale in March was very successful .
  • Turkey Dinner to be held April 10 th from 12 to 3 pm.
X - Building Committee Report
  • Paul still is working to get the ice cleats.
XI - President's Report
  • Request for a wish list (suggestion book) to be started.
  • Need help to work at the Farmers Market in Heathsville.
  • Desperate for help during and after the turkey dinner.
XII - Old Business
  • None.
XIII - New Business
  • Dave made a motion to drop the Workman’s Comp policy and Supplementary because of the cost ($8826.00) for 2005. A primary Accident and Sickness policy with Hartford would be considerably less ($3770.00) for 2005. Ed G. seconded the motion. It was approved by all.
  • A plan was announced to work on the Fund Letter at the squad building on 4/13/05 starting at 6:30 p.m.
  • Danny Jackson was voted in as a probationary member.
  • Rescue Squad picnic will be held July 23, 2005 at Mallard Bay, starting at noon. Everyone bring a covered dish. Meat and Sodas will be supplied. Members and Auxiliary are invited.
XIV - Training Committee Report
  • AED training was held after the meeting. AED’s will be placed in the following areas:
    • Coopers Landing
    • Knights Landing
    • Forrest Landing
    • Pine Point
    • At the Mid-County station
XV - Cadet Report
  • Amber & Cori were present. Cadets will have a meeting 4/16/05.
