February 5,2003 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:30pm

I - Paul called meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report - Minutes posted. Cindi made a motion to accept the minutes and Ed G seconded the motion. All approved the minutes.

II-A - Treasurer's Report - Garfield made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Ed G. seconded the motion. All approved the report.

Ill - Captain's Report -

  1. 23 calls for January - 75 calls for the year.

  2. PPCR - Please fill out everything and circle numbered items in # column.

  3. New AEDs - AED training will be held at MCVRS building on 2-12-03 - 7pm.

  4. Incident Command Basic Course will be held at Callao VRS building on 2-15-03 from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

  5. How many EMTs are keeping up with your CEUs? How are you doing it? Office of EMS has stopped mailing CEU reports to your home. Reports are now available only on the OEMS web site.

IV - Vice-President's Report - None

V -1" Lieutenant's Report -

Talked about VAVRS District 10 Training Weekend - At Westmoreland State part on Saturday 3-22-03 from 7:00am to 4:00pm. A copy of the registration form is attached.

VI - 2nd Lieutenant's Report -

CPR will be held on Saturday 2-22-03 at MCVRS building starting at 1:00 p.m. The following members need to recertify: 430, 432, 441, 443, and 448.

VII - Vehicle Officer's Report -

  1. The new vehicle will be 4-wheel drive and will be in by mid-June or first of July. Cost will be $98,850 plus $3,500 for radios and $1,000 for striping.
  2. #46 is back in service from Bill's Body Shop. Work completed from deer damage.
  3. Herb brought up about LED lights to be put on #48. Will cost around $1,330. Was not voted on.

VIII - Auxiliary's Report -

Bingo to be held 2-07-03 and monthly meeting to be held on 2-10-03 weather permitting.

IX - Building Committee Report -

- Everything still progressing.

X - President's Report -

  1. Nancy spoke with lawyer in NC about Mary Hudnall's bequest. The lawyer expects we will have it within 2 months or less.

  2. Nancy will be attending a Grant Writing seminar on March 1st and 2nd in Atlantic City. Cost will be $75 plus 2 nights at $139 per night. The only other seminar scheduled for the coming months is in Utah.
  3. The fundraiser letter will be done for approval at the March board meeting at the latest.
  4. Need volunteers for the spaghetti supper to be held 2-8-03 at the MCVRS building by NHS seniors.

XI - Old Business -

Garfield made a motion to accept this month's batch of SOPs. Cindi seconded the motion .

XII - New Business -

  1. Garfield made a motion to send Nancy to Atlantic City and pay all expenses. Ed G. seconded the motion. All approved.
  2. Cindi distributed a set of proposals to revise the squad's mission statement. These will be voted on at a future meeting after the squad has had time to consider them.

XIII - Training Committee Report -

  1. LifePak 12 AED training to be held 2-12-03, Incident Command - 2-15-03, and CPR 2-22-03.

XIV - Junior Squad Report -

  1. Mary Basye has turned in an application to join.
