February 4, 2004 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:35pm.

I - Nancy called meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report

Minutes posted. Dave made a motion to accept the minutes and Herb seconded the motion. They were adopted.

III - Treasurer's Report

Paul made a motion and Dave seconded it to accept the report. All approved.

IV - Captain's Report

  1. 26 calls for December. 86 calls for the year.
  2. Volunteers needed for an inside work detail (set-up cabinets, move supplies around, and hang up clotheslines). Sign up sheet circulating for Feb. 14th starting at noon.
  3. New glucometers are going into service right after the meeting. Glucometer test strips and glucometer passed around. Cindi gave us a demonstration.
  4. Any ALS providers not familiar with the procedure for wasting drugs at RGH? "All narcotic wastage shall be signed off by full signature, not initials, by both the ED staff member who witnessed the wastage and the ALS provider who administered and/or wasted the drug. The action is to be recorded on either the Medication or Physician's Notes section of the PPCR. "Narcotics Accounted For" requires a separate signature by either the pharmacist of the ED staff member who received the used box. NO EXCEPTIONS.
  5. VAVRS District 8 Training: A good session sponsored by VAVRS at Westmoreland State Park. We will send a unit. It will be held March 20th. Registration deadline is Feb. 13th.
  6. RGH Maternity Unit closing on Feb. 29, 2004. Can transport women-in-labor to RGH until the end of the month. After that, ask mothers for their preference. If no preference, unless we hear from RGH., otherwise, transport to Memorial Regional (Hanover). We will look at the situation again in March.

VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report

  • #48 needs to be run more often. Use it as the first-out vehicle until further notice.

IX - Auxiliary's Report

  • Photo taken - Feb. 6 at 8:30pm. Will have meeting on Feb 9th.

X - Building Committee Report

  • None.

XI - President's Report

  • None.

XII - Old Business

  • Vote on Bylaws in March.

XIII - New Business

  1. Christmas party to be held Dec, 11, 2004.
  2. Have new helmets for patient care, and getting coveralls soon. To be measured for them Feb. 19th at 7:00pm and Feb. 21st at 1:00pm.
  3. Paul made a motion to purchase 5 pocket AED's costing $1,000 each and Dave seconded the motion. Hope matching funds from grant is available. All agreed.
  4. Voted Christy and Mike Connell in as probationary members.

XIV - Training Committee Report

  • None.

XV - Junior Squad

  • Need new junior members. Hoping to get some school kids interested in joining us. Ages 12-18. All junior members will be called cadets.
