6:50 PM - General Business Meeting – Wednesday, February 1, 2006.
I - Dan called meeting to order early due to the stretcher demonstration.
II - Secretary's Report
  • The minutes from January were amended and posted. Devin proposed to accept as amended and Ed G. seconded it.
III - Treasurer's Report
  • Jean is out of town and Dave T. gave the Treasurer’s report.
  • A report of the $100,000 donation from the Ann Andrews David Trust was noted and the Board’s suggestion that this money be placed in CD’S ($20,000 in a 9 month, $30,000 in a 13 month, and $50,000 in a 15 month).
  • It was suggested by Ed G. that Jean look into Treasury Bills as an alternative.
  • Dave made a motion to accept the report and Janice seconded it.
IV - Captain's Report
  • None.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • None.
VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • The strobes on Rescue Command 4 have been fixed.
  • Please remember if the radios in the back are turned on manually, you will need to turn them off that way also.
  • The HT750 radios are being reprogrammed to include Lancaster County, please see Ed G. and he will do this.
  • Danny and Nick have been keeping the vehicles clean and they were thanked for that.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • None.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • Unit 48 had an oil change last week and Unit 46 will be done this week.
  • The valves on Unit 46’s generator were adjusted by Ed G. and reported to be running better now.
IX - Auxiliary's Report
  • 1st Bingo will be in March. Bake Sales will be moved to Fridays. The auxiliary meetings will resume in March.
X - Building Committee Report
  • The l ight fixtures on the road sign and one over the kitchen door need to be repaired. Paul R. will do this.
  • Ed G. made a motion for the road sign lights to be replaced at a cost of no more than $200 each and the kitchen door light be replaced at a cost of no more than $100.
  • Janice seconded the motion.
  • Motion passed unanimously.
XI - President's Report
  • The Board of Directors met on Sunday January 29, 2006 to discuss plans for the year.
  • Ceiling Tiles were completed in December.
  • Smoke Detectors - A search for a new security company to service our building will be looked into.
  • Grants will be submitted for stretchers and AutoPulse devices in each unit.
  • A door in the bay is being considered for entry into the building.
  • Janice donated a DVD Player for the training room downstairs. A new TV for the training room is needed and Dan T. will get pricing.
  • Saturday, February 11, 2006, at 4 P.M. the VAVRS district meeting will be held at our station. The Auxiliary will supply the food for this meeting. The meeting will be held in the bay area and the auxiliary will serve the food in the training room.
  • A new C-Band receiver is needed and Dave R. is trying to locate one.
  • The Cub Scouts will hold their Blue and Gold Dinner on February 26, 2006 from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. at our building. Nick and Rebekah will attend this function.
  • On Saturday, March 4, 2006, the Boy Scouts will hold the Pinewood Derby from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. at our building. Janice and Rebekah will attend this function.
XII - Old Business
  • A reminder to PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF. Leave the building as you found it. Your mother does not live here.
XIII - New Business
  • A tentative date of April 29 th is being considered for a Mass Causality Drill. How will MCVRS respond and what training do we need to accomplish this.
  • Bradley Townshend was presented to membership as applicant to the Cadet Squad. Application given to Interim Membership Coordinator for processing.
  • Aaron Wilson has applied for Cadet Membership. Beverly T. moved to accept Aaron W. as a Cadet, Devin B. seconded it, Aaron W. voted in as new Cadet member.
  • A motion was made to take Chris Kerns off probation by Dave R., seconded by Devin B., motion passed unanimously.
  • Wes Brown has left the area and the 2 nd Lieutenant position will need to be filled. This will be voted on at the March meeting. Wes B. asked that he be put as inactive and not taken off the member list. Rebekah H. made the motion, Devin B. seconded it, motion passed unanimously.
XIV - Training Officer's Report
  • A reminder that Sandy will not be giving CE classes right now due to expiration of CE hours she applied for.
  • Training on BLS Practicals will be held at the building on February 12 th at 2 PM.
  • A reminder that according to the Bylaws, CPR Pro or Healthcare Provider is needed to ride the ambulances and operate as an operations member. For those that do not meet this requirement, a 6-month deadline has been given.

  • None.
