January 5, 2005 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:35pm.
I - Nancy called meeting to order.
II - Secretary's Report
Minutes posted. Paul made a motion to accept the minutes and Devin seconded the motion. They were adopted .
III - Treasurer's Report
Devin made a motion and Dan T. seconded it to accept the report. All approved.
IV - Captain's Report
  • The December call report totaled 29 calls. There have been 50 calls for the year.
  • The biennial state inspection occurs in July this year.
  • EMT-B class will startJanuary 11, 2005 in Deltaville.
  • C.P.R. recertification is scheduled for January 22, 2005 from 9AM-1PM .

VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • None.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • Farm Vehicle Extrication class will be held at R.G.H. on January 22, 2005, check with Cindi on the time.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • None.
IX - Auxiliary's Report
  • None.
X - Building Committee Report
  • The acoustic ceiling for the meeting room will be installed in February. The Ice cleats are to be installed by March.
XI - President's Report
  • The state grant for AEDS was approved by The Sate of Virginia in the amount of $13, 843.00 for vehicle.
  • A public hearing for Ass’t living facility will be held on January 27, 2005 at the 1 st Baptist Church, 7:00 p.m.
XII - Old Business
  • Mike and Christy were thanked for all of their work for the Christmas party.
XIII - New Business
  • Janice Kauffman and Dominic (Nick) Wilson were voted in as probationary members. Lacie Deihl was voted in as a cadet member.
  • Members were reminded of the Food Lion Shop & Save program and encouraged to register on www.Foodlion.com. (Click here for detailed instructions.)
  • Dan T. made a motion to pay $100.00 to VAVRS to send 4 squad members for the Farm Vehicle Extrication class. Devin seconded the motion.
XIV - Training Committee Report
  • VAVRS will be conducting a number of classes at RGH in January and April. Classes include farm vehicle extrication, hasmat awareness, and search and rescue. All classes require a $25 registration fee, which is refunded when you show up to take the class.
  • 4 members signed up for a class to be held January 22: Christy, Terry, Nick, Cindi.
XV - Cadet Report
  • None.
