June 7, 2006 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:32 p.m.

• Minutes have been posted. Nancy made a motion to accept the minutes and Dave seconded the motion. They were adopted.

• New Stretchers and medical supplies was a good bit of the expenditures. Janice made a motion to accept the report and Nancy seconded it. All approved.

• The new Stretchers have been installed in the ambulances and a demo of the stretchers will be held after the meeting by Dave.
• Riverside Tappahannock will have a BBQ for EMS personal at the Essex Vol. Firehouse on Airport Rd, on Friday 6/9 at 6 PM.
• An announcement of 3 additional EMT’s was announced; Janice Kauffman, Terry Blackstone and Ron Loving have completed the requirements and have been certified.
• Riverside Tappahannock has issued new badges for entrance into the ER. Dave will have them put into each squad.
• The 14 th will be the Drug Box Inventory and Dave will handle this. Dave will also attend the Pre Hospital meeting in Newport News.

V - Vice-President's Report

• A reminder that to please check the outside Unit doors on the Squad and make sure they are secure. Also Rescue Command 4 has been put in 4 wheel drive recently, so please check to make sure it is not in 4 wheel drive when you get in the vehicle.

• A posting of all the upcoming classes is on the Bulletin Board.
• Sandy & Devin will work out a schedule for certification hours to be done at the Squad Building in the near future. He will keep us up to date.

• The lights on the front of the building are done and hopefully the other 2 will be done by Friday.

• We received an invitation to participate on the Parade in Reedville on Saturday, July 1 st.
• The Board of Directors have voted to drop the Sam’s Club membership.
• Devin has requested help with the membership applications. He has revised everything Linda has volunteered and she will get with Devin.
• Debra Parker has sent in her letter of resignation and this was read at the meeting.

• The EMT patches are in. See Ed if you need additional patches.
• Beverly will do the organization of the Squads Picnic at Mallard Bay this year. Possible dates were July 15 th or Aug 5 th, depending on the clubhouse’s schedule? Beverly will work with Herb on this and keep us informed.
• The Radio Club will occupy the Squad Building June 24 th & 25 th.

• The auxiliary has request a line for the phone be run to inside, in the meeting room or kitchen.
• Standby for Graduation was discussed and anyone interested should check with Sandy.
• Sign up for the Farmers Market is the 3 rd Saturday of each month.
• A pan for under the ice machine was discussed and a voted to purchase one was taken. Paul will measure and purchase one next week.
• Two new Cadets, Katherine Cook and Franklin Cook were voted in unanimously by verbal vote. Two additional senior members are still being processed.

• Bingo will be held the 1 st Friday of the month and will be held in the training room for the summer.
• The auxiliary has offered to purchase all new tables for the meeting room and has requested that these tables NOT be lent out for events. The Board of Directors has taken this into consideration and agreed to this.
• A request was made that the Plugs be checked or added for cooking. This will be done.
• The Bake Sale will be Friday, June 16 th at 8:30 till?

• A car wash is still being planned, a flower sale and yard sale are also being considered. Anyone with other ideas or who would like to participate should see Brad. Also 2 new members have joined as stated above.
