June 1, 2005 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:30pm.
I - Nancy called meeting to order.
II - Secretary's Report
Minutes posted. Herb made a motion to accept the minutes and Dan T. seconded the motion. They were adopted.
III - Treasurer's Report
Dan T. made a motion and Larry seconded it to accept the report. All approved.
IV - Captain's Report
  • The call summary for May showed a total of 28 calls, 27 emergencies and 1 non-emergency.
  • EVOC class will be held in Richmond County, it has not yet been scheduled but it may be in June.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • None.
VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • SKEDs (a flexible device for moving patients over terrain that a wheeled cot cannot handle) were discussed. The approximate cost is $561.00. A motion was made to purchase one for placement in Rescue Command 4. Rebekah seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously when a vote was taken.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • Incident Command Classes will be held July 16th, 18th and 19th in Callao, it is an 8 hr. class presented by PEMS staff. An explanation of the class was given by Larry. Members of the Northumberland Fire and Rescue departments, as well as the Sheriff’s Department and State will attend. All members are asked to sign up for one class.
  • CPR recertification will be held Sunday, June 12 th at 2 PM.
  • Devon Basye has agreed to be the new training officer.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • Everything is in good working order.
  • The gas gauge on #48 is malfunctioning, check mileage/against odometer.
  • Lettering will be done on Command Rescue 4 when installation of the emergency lights is complete. This should be done in a couple of weeks. A log is in the new vehicle; it must be completed each time the vehicle is run.
  • For the near term, DO NOT leave the lights/radios on in the new vehicle because the battery will get run down. This condition will be fixed, so that this will not happen in the future.
IX - Auxiliary's Report
  • Bingo will be held Friday, June 4, 2005.
  • Bake Sale will be held on June 18, 2005.
  • Chicken Dinner on May 15, 2005 was a great success.
X - Building Committee Report
  • The ice cleats are in and will be installed before next ice storm (presumably, then, the ice cleats will not be installed by the end of May 2005...).
XI - President's Report
  • None.
XII - Old Business
  • Picnic for squad and auxiliary members/family will be July 23, 2005 at Noon at Mallard Bay. Meat and soda will be furnished. Bring a covered dish.
XIII - New Business
  • Chris Kerns was voted in for probationary squad membership.
  • Nick Wilson is going to apply paint sealant to the vehicles and requested assistance in completing the job.
  • Orientation to Rescue Command 4 will be scheduled.
  • Rob Hinton will be called about cleaning the rain gutters on the building.
