March 5, 2003 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:30pm

I - Nancy called the meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report - Minutes posted. Paul made a motion to accept the minutes and Dave seconded the motion. All approved the minutes.

II-A - Treasurer's Report - A copy is attached. Dan T. made a motion to accept the Treasurer's Report and Jim seconded the motion. All approved the report.

III - Captain's Report -

  1. 24 calls for February - 100 calls for the year.
  2. CPR Recert - March 22, 12:00pm at Mid-Co. - 466, 442, 432, 441, 453, and 448 need to be recertified.
  3. EVOC will be held at Montross Rescue Squad on March 22 from 9 am to 5pm andcontinue March 29 from 9am until finished. Harold Conley is the instructor. Register by calling Jeff Beasley.
  4. Everybody should be checking the website periodically. The Alerts section has important information, especially if you don't run calls at least once a week.
  5. State inspection coming up. Need to start planning, organize paperwork, clean station, throw out items we aren't using, finish upstairs, make sure ambulances are up to code and get CPR certifications finished.
  6. OEMS R & Rs posted on Mid-Co. Website.

IV - Vice-President's Report - None.

V - 1st Lieutenant's Report -

  1. Units aren't getting cleaned after a run. Please rinse off the ambulance and sweep the patient compartment floor before you complete a call.
  2. 500 watt work light put in #48.

 VI - 2nd Lieutenant's Report - None.

 VII - Vehicle Officer's Report -

         Life Pak 12 AED in both units. Marquette AEDs will remain on board for the time being.

VIII - Auxiliary's Report -

         Bingo will be on 3-7-03 and monthly meeting to be held on 3-10-03.

 IX - Building Committee Report -

  1. Some ice damage was done to the heat pump. Discuss ways to prevent future damage- Install ice cleats or build shed roof over units.
  2. Need 2 fire extinguishers installed upstairs. Will have to purchase them.
  3. Need towel bars installed in kitchen and laundry room.

X - President's Report -

  1. Cell phone bills are running high
  2. A sign up sheet will be put up for all long distance phone calls.
  3. Nancy went to Grant Writing Seminar, which was held on March 1st and 2nd and it was very rewarding.

XI - Old Business -

Arnette made a motion to accept the following mission statement. The motion was seconded by Shirley and passed unanimously.

"In times of pain and loss, The Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad will provide quality emergency medical services. Our purpose is to act as a stabilizing force and deliver our patients to definitive care safely, with dignity and compassion."

Ed G. made a motion to accept External Operations - Title: Public Services, Review Period Ends March 2003 as written with a few changes. Dave seconded the motion.

XII - New Business -

  1. Voted Mike Marcon in as a new member.
  2.  Cub Scout Pack 260 will have their Pinewood Derby on 3-9-03 from 1-4pm at MCVRS building. Jim and Rebekah will help.

XIII - Training Committee Report - None.

XIV - Junior Squad Report -

Voted Dani (Mary) Basye in as a Junior Squad member.
