March 2, 2005 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:35pm .
I - Nancy called meeting to order.
II - Secretary's Report
Minutes posted. Dan T. made a motion to accept the minutes and Garfield seconded the motion. They were adopted.
III - Treasurer's Report
Dan T. made a motion and Garfield seconded it to accept the report. All approved.
IV - Captain's Report
  • Open House was discussed for Memorial weekend .
  • Volunteers are needed and several resources were discussed. A need for Public Relations within the community were also opened for discussion.
  • It was noted that there is a new computer upstairs for all members use. A log was also put next to the computer and this is just to keep track of usage for DSL at a later time. All were encouraged to use the computer.
  • AED ’s are due this week and locations were discussed .
  • Sandi Smith will teach a class on the new AED’s but the class must be held on a Sunday (TBA).

V - Vice-President's Report

  • The new 2005 Chevrolet Suburban 4 Wheel Drive (first response vehicle) was ordered and should be here within 90 to 120 days .
VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • The radios have also been ordered for the first response vehicle.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • Cindi was out sick.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • All vehicles are in good running order.
IX - Auxiliary's Report
  • Bingo will start on Friday night.
  • We were reminded that the drinks in the warmer (in the kitchen) and the refrigerator are strictly for Bingo.
  • Bake Sales will occur on March 26th, May 7th, and September 24th at Bank of Northumberland.
  • On September 16 th a Pancake supper will be held.
X - Building Committee Report
  • None.
XI - President's Report
  • A Board of Directors retreat will be held the last Sunday in March for brain storming and planning.
  • Smoke detectors that are missing and those not working properly were discussed and will be looked into.
  • The Pinewood Derby will be on Sunday at 2.
XII - Old Business
  • AED ’s and the first response vehicle were discussed
  • A computer has been purchased and installed in the crew quarters upstairs.
  • Retrieval of radio equipment held by previous members was opened for discussion.
XIII - New Business
  • See Training Committee report.
XIV - Training Committee Report
  • The VAVRS will conduct two training sessions in April: Farm Machinery Extrication on April 9 & 10, and Search and Rescue will be held April 15, 16, and 17. Both events will start in the RGH training center at 8:00 a.m.
  • EVOC will be held March 16, 17, 18, and 19 at Richmond County high school.
XV - Cadet Report
  • None.
