May 3, 2006 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:40 p.m.
I - Dan called meeting to order.
II - Secretary's Report
  • Minutes have been posted. Larry made a motion to amend the April minutes to include the funding options and additional options that are out there for the new ambulance. The committee will explore these options. Dave made a motion to accept the minutes and Larry seconded the motion. They were adopted.
III - Treasurer's Report
  • Insurance was paid in April for the year and the County check offset this. Larry made a motion to accept the report and Dave seconded it. All approved.
IV - Captain's Report
  • A flyer was made to remind everyone of Rappahannock General Hospital’s BBQ Bash in Honor of National Emergency Medical Services Week. Please respond if you can attend...
  • Dave has attended the Pre-Hospital conference in Tappahannock to discuss the Stat boxes on the Squads. These will contain the 6 most common used drugs and Dave will keep us informed as this progresses.
  • An AED discussion will take place after the meeting to try and standardize the AED pockets on the squads.
  • A brief discussion on the new CPR was given and we will be kept updated.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • NONE.
VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • NONE.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • NONE.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • The Battery Charger for Rescue Command 4 is in and will be installed.
  • The Generator on 46 has been flashing a code, if there is a problem it is best to shut off the unit and restart it. That seems to solve the problem.
IX - Training Officer's Report
  • There will be a short presentation on the Call Sheets after the meeting.
  • A posting of all the upcoming classes is on the Bulletin Board.
  • A discussion on the new Helicopter service in West Point (Life EVAC VA) was presented and a time of touring this service will be worked out.
  • Beverly, Nick and Pam‘s EVOC certificates were handed out.
  • Training this month has not been decided.
X - Building Committee Report
  • We are still waiting for the last light to come in.
XI - President's Report
  • Sign up sheets will be on the bulletin board for the following:
    • Chicken Dinner, May 21
    • Strawberry Festival, May 27
    • Farmers Market – Command 4 may be used
XII - Old Business
  • The By-Law committee has not met yet. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
  • The new stretchers should be in the beginning of May. Jeannie has received a copy of the order.
  • The new EMT patches have been ordered.
XIII - New Business
  • Approval was made for the Radio Club to use the Squad Building in June as per Jeff Newsome’s request.
  • There is no new members up for voting,
  • The Virginia Department of Transportation clean up campaign was given to Beverly for the Cadet program.
  • A request that the RED TRASH BAGS not be disposed of in the regular trash cans or dumpster. They are to be disposed of at the Hospital in the correct bin.
  • A motion was made to give a monetary gift to Allen Bryant as a graduation gift. Ed made the motion and Rebekah seconded it.
XIV - Auxiliary's Report
  • Bingo will be held on 5/5/06 from 7 PM – 9PM.
  • The Chicken dinner will be held May 21 st. Help is needed for setup and during the dinner.
  • A request was made to put up tables for Bingo after the meeting tonight.
XV - Cadet Report
  • A car wash is in the planning stage and it was suggested that a check of what members can participate be taken.
