I - Nancy called meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report

Minutes posted. Dave made a motion to accept the minutes and Roger seconded the motion. They were adopted.

III - Treasurer's Report

Ed made a motion and Herb seconded it to accept the report. All approved .

IV - Captain's Report

  1. 27 calls for Sept. 274 calls for the year.

  2. Thanks to Rebekah, Ed G., Garfield, Dan T., Jim, and Danny R. for their service during the hurricane. I posted a writeup of Hurricane Isabel events on the website. They handled 3 calls that day and cleared the road of trees from Heathsville to Kilmarnock on 360 and 200, and several back roads. They gave a stunning display of teamwork and the spirit that makes Mid-Co. live up to our motto. Devin Basye joined us from college. Mid-Co. was able not only to respond, but also to clear trees as they went. I'm proud of you, very proud indeed. The crew quarters got a good initiation during the storm, supporting people for 6 days. They were good housekeepers.

  3. AED for #41: HeartStart is back on board. No printer, but will work fine for defibrillation.

  4. Remember to check the sign-up sheet for football standby.

  5. Mike Marcon sends his thanks for our performance during the hurricane.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • A thank you to Cindi, Ed. G., Danny R., and Rebekah for all they did and thanks for phone calls, cards, prayers and everything.

VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report

  • A thank you to Cindi for all the food she procured, to Rebekah for the food she baked and donated, and others who brought food from home.

VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report

  • None.

VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report

  • #46 was in the shop for front end alignment, tire rotation and state inspection. #48 will be inspected next week and new lights will be installed to upgrade the unit.

IX - Auxiliary's Report

  • Bingo 10-3-03, Bake Sale 10-11-03 and Chicken Dinner 10-26-03.

X - Building Committee Report

  • Cabinet tops will soon be finished, installed, and then all upstairs will be completed.

XI - President's Report

  • Thanks to all who helped during the hurricane. Christmas party to be Dec. 13, 2003.

XII - Old Business

  • None.

XIII - New Business

  1. Officer nominations are now open for 2004.

  2. Devin Basye and Amber Swann were voted in as probationary regular members.

XIV - Training Committee Report

  • Mike will be auditing training records and will follow up on expired certifications.

XV - Junior Squad

  • Beverly, Mary, Sallie, and Dani have completed CPR training.
