October 4, 2006 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:34 p.m.

I - Dan T. called meeting to order.
II - Secretary's Report
  • Minutes have been posted. Nancy made a motion to accept the minutes and Herb seconded the motion. They were adopted.
III - Treasurer's Report
  • Fundraising contributions have been steady. Dave made a motion to accept the report and Larry seconded it. All approved.
IV - Captain's Report
  • The Auto Pulses are in and have been put on each squad. They are located where the backboards are. The traction splints are now located inside the squad under the seats. A Battery schedule has not been worked out yet but they are being checked by Dave in order to work out a schedule. After the meeting the DVD for the auto pulses will be shown and Zoll will be at the next meeting to do a complete run through of the auto pulse.
  • The Health Department has sent a Thank You letter for the use of our refrigerator.
  • Devin was given a big CONGRATS for his new status ALS.
  • A reminder that RGH ER is being temporarily moved to the back where the Cancer Center is on Friday, October 13 th for a period of approximately 3 weeks. All drivers should note this when going to RGH ER.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • Nancy explained that she did a follow up on someone interested in the squads needs for Volunteers. He was 90 years old.
VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report
  • A request for anyone interested in attending the Calleo parade on October 21. If interested see Ed after the meeting.
VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report
  • The board has decided to put off nominating a new 2 nd Lieutenant till the December meeting. Nominations will be taken at the November meeting.
VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report
  • The onboard Battery charger is working in the Suburban.
IX - Training Officer's Report
  • There will be training on Sunday, October 8 th on the Glucometer, computube and nebulizer for those interested. Bill Henderson will be doing the meeting.
  • Devon will be checking on the next EVOC classes that will be held .
  • Sandy asked that the specifics for CEUs be finalized so she can turn in her requests.
X - Building Committee Report
  • The pan for the ice machine will be checked on.
XI - President's Report
  • Dan met with Kenny Eades in reference to Mid-County's not having fire service available for Mid-County during Ernesto. It was decided that Dan will follow up as a private citizen for now and not involve the squad.
  • Rebekah has donated a new flag to replace the old one destroyed by the storm. The old flag was retired properly.
XII - Old Business
  • Diane, Judy and Janice were voted off probation. A motion was made to take a verbal vote by Nancy and Dave seconded it. All 3 were voted in as regular members.
XIII - New Business
  • A request was made by a member that any mess you make, clean it up. MESS IT UP –CLEAN IT UP.
  • Rebekah will get a card for Raymond Curry from the squad.
  • Chelsea Croftsty and Noel Burnett applied for Cadet Membership. Dave motioned for a voice vote and Janice seconded it. Both Chelsea & Noel were voted in as Cadet Members.
  • A suggestion for a Safety check for our elderly after bad weather was suggested. A list should be started and possibly on these checks water, etc can be given out.
  • The Christmas Party will be on December 9 th. Dave will check with Paul to see if he wants to handle the arrangements again this year.
  • Nancy will chair the nominating committee with Janice & Rebekah. They will meet on October 9 th to go over officer nominations.
  • Northern Neck Electric will have their yearly dinner October 17 th. If you are interested in attending see Danny Jackson.
XIV - Auxiliary's Report
  • The Roast Beef dinner had a good turn out.
  • Bake Sale was a success and made almost $700. It was continued at Food Lion on Saturday.
  • Bingo will be held on 10/6/2006.
  • There will NOT be a chicken dinner in October.
XV - Cadet Report
  • The cadets requested use of the building for a Dance on October 20 th from 5 to 10 PM. This will be chaperoned and it was requested that the schools, Calleo fire dept etc be checked for conflicts. Ed made a motion to approve and Rebekah seconded it.
  • Anyone interested in helping out as volunteers should contact Judy.
