Sept 3, 2003 - General Business Meeting - Wednesday night 7:30pm.

I - Nancy called meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report

Minutes posted. Dave made a motion to accept the minutes and Alice seconded the motion. They were adopted.

III - Treasurer's Report

Garfield made a motion and Dan T. seconded to accept this report. All approved.

IV - Captain's Report

  1. 28 calls for August. 247 calls for the year.

  2. Sign-up sheet for Football Standby to be passed around.

  3. The PEMS committee in charge of revising the patient care protocols has completed the first phase of its work. The draft protocols will be submitted to the PEMS Medical Advisors Committee next week.

  4. We're still working to get Mid-Co. certified as an EMSAT site. We'll have the dish (donated by Dave) installed sometime this fall.

  5. #41 Replacement Committee. Progress Report follows in Old Business.

VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report

  • None.

VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report

  • None.

VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report

  • Put 4 new tires on #41 and please fuel up #41 when using it.

  • Going to upgrade lights on #48 in a few weeks.

IX - Auxiliary's Report

  1. Thank all of the squad members who helped with the lawn mower race.
  2. Bake sale on 9-27-03. Chicken dinner on 10-26-03.

X - Building Committee Report

  • Carpet is installed upstairs and going to move furniture up there after meeting.

XI - President's Report

  • None.

XII - Old Business

  1. Replace #41-Purpose is to transport personnel. Minimum of 5. Emergency Response - non transport. Capable of ALS-Refrigeration for drugs. Towing capability - able to tow Northumberland's Disaster Trailer. Capable of towing boat in future. Not looking at something to run in the woods at this time.

  2. Disaster Response Team member and leader course- 9-12-03 (team member). 7:00-9:30pm. 9-13-03 (team leader). 8:00am-5:00pm at Nansemond-Suffolk VRS

XIII - New Business

  1. On 9-23-03 CVRS 7:00pm- EMT to Cardiac Tech class.

  2. Jim gave Suzanne Tolson, instructor with one of their classes a $50 gift certificate. Ed. G. made a motion to reimburse Jim and Garfield seconded the motion.

  3. Jim asked the squad members to consider changing the day of the regular monthly business meeting so that he can attend choir practice, which is held every Wednesday. Nancy noted that to make such a change would require a change to the bylaws, which seemed an agreeable proposition to Jim, but not to anybody else. No action was taken on the request.

XIV - Training Committee Report

  • Mike Marcon promised Cindi to put together training plan for the squad.

  • BTLS certificates were distributed to members who attended the training in July.

XV - Junior Squad

  • None.
