I - Paul called meeting to order.

II - Secretary's Report

Minutes posted. Dan T. made a motion to accept the minutes and Herb seconded the motion. They were adopted.

III - Treasurer's Report

Dan T. made a motion and Herb seconded it to accept the report. All approved.

IV - Captain's Report

  1. 25 calls for August-268 calls for the year.

  2. Protocols: The new regional patient care protocols are now in effect. Cindi is working on updating the contents for the yellow binders given to all members a couple of years ago.

  3. Ambulance patient compartments: Please remember to wipe down the flat surfaces of the ambulance patient compartment before you leave the hospital. Use a clean towel and leave it at the hospital and pick up another towel to replace it.

  4. Broom on board: We are going to put a broom on each ambulance, stored in the backboard compartment. Use the broom to sweep out the patient compartment when you clean up at the hospital and make sure you put it back on board.

  5. NHS Football Standby: Sign-up sheet circulating. First game Friday Sept. 17 th.

  6. St. Stephens Standby on Sat Sept 4 th. Sign-up sheet circulating.

  7. Farmer’s Market Standby: Sat. Sept 18 th. 8:30 - 1:00pm. Sign-up sheet circulating

  8. Edwardsville Parade: Sat Sept 11 th at 12:15pm. Need 2 volunteers.

  9. Cindi will be out of town September 14-16.

V - Vice-President's Report

  • None.

VI - 1st Lieutenant's Report

  • Move #41 over where #46 is and move #48 over to end wall for overhead door repair. Mat take 3 weeks for repair. .

VII - 2nd Lieutenant's Report

  1. Repaired portable suction in #46.

  2. Dave will be on vacation September 16-24.

VIII - Vehicle Officer's Report

  • #46 doing fine now.

IX - Auxiliary's Report

  • Bake Sale to be held Sept. 25 at Bank of North’d, Heathsville.

X - Building Committee Report

  • Repainted roof- work done under warranty by Courthouse Construction.

XI - President's Report

  • VAVRS Convention to be held starting on Sept. 22 thru Sept. 25 at Va. Beach. Anyone interested contact Nancy or Cindi.

XII - Old Business

  1. Dave distributed information about the costs of high-speed internet service for the station. Cindi suggested tabling the matter until members have a chance to study the information.

  2. Cindi made a motion for the squad to have acoustic ceiling installed in training room. Ed seconded the motion. All agreed

  3. Cindi made a motion to have a mandatory duty shift for members who are not now running 10% of calls and who are not otherwise exempt from doing so. Ed seconded it. All agreed.

XIII - New Business

  • Cindi distributed a prototype for a redesigned highway sign. She reported that the county will not require the squad to pull a permit as long as the sign does not exceed 15' in height and is installed in the same place where it now is. Dave made a motion for a new sign at the road and Ed seconded it. All agreed. Jeff will contact a sign vendor for an estimate of cost.

XIV - Training Committee Report

  • The October meeting will feature a briefing on the use of oxygen regulators and suction.
