I: The General Business Meeting of Mid-County Volunteer Rescue Squad was called to order at the Squad Building by Dan Townshend on Wednesday, 5 September 2007, at 1930 hours.
II: Attendance (encl 1) - Devin Basye, Roger Briney, Heather Cook, Judy Cook, Barbara Darden, Ed Gotthardt, Rebekah Haynie, Danny Jackson, Diane Jackson, Janice Kauffman, Jeff Newsome, Garfield Parker, David Rundall, Bradley Townshend, Dan Townshend, Larry Wagner, Linda Wilson, Nick Wilson, Jeanne Widenmyer, and Angela Yerby were present. Alice Bird, Terry Blackstone, Allen Bryant, Cindi deCapiteau, Dan Gotthardt, Tina New, Lisa Roberts, Anna Rundall, Paul Ryan, Pam Townshend, Nancy Wagner, and Aaron Wilson were excused.
Ill: Minutes of the 9 August 2007 meeting (encl 2) have been posted. Larry Wagner made a motion minutes be accepted as submitted. Dan Townshend seconded the motion. Minutes approved.
IV: Treasurer's Report - Jeanne Widenmyer provided the Treasurer's Report (encl 3) through August 2007. Larry Wagner made a motion the report be accepted as submitted. Devin Basye seconded the motion. Motion carried.
V: Captain's Report-David Rundall
1. Will be running calls again.
2. Contract for life pack system has been accomplished.
3.
Decision on warranty contract for auto pulse system will be held until it
can be
researched.
VI: 1 st Lieutenant's Report - Ed Gotthardt
1.
The radio batteries are in
Fredericksburg awaiting pickup.
2.
The emergency vests have come in.
3.
Janice Kauffman, Nick Wilson and
myself attended the recent Task Force
Training.
4.
Janice
Kauffman and I attended the Volunteer Rescue Squad District
5. Reported on equipment acquired from a member that has been dropped from the rolls. Devin will assist in getting other outstanding items returned.
VII: 2nd Lieutenant's Report - Devin Basye/thanked Squad for kindness extended to hi; family during the recent loss of his grandmother.
VIII: Training Officer's Report - Janice Kauffinan
1.
Sign up sheets
for football games have been posted.
2.
CPR Class has
been rescheduled for 13 October, 1100 hours.
3.
The wipe off
boards have been ordered.
4.
Planning a
short MCI drill following this meeting.
5.
Richmond
County is asking for a support team (an ALS and a BLS) on 30
September.
6.
EMT class
starts this week at RGH.
7.
Certification
Program is coming up. Two of our Squad members are
considering taking it.
8.
Have two rooms
reserved for the Symposium in Norfolk, 7-11 November.
Two or three more can sign up.
9.
Introduced Mr.
Hudley, former Army Medic. Mr. Hudley is considering
joining Mid-County.
IX: President's Report - Dan Townshend
1.
The County has
provided us three cell phones. Feel we should research this
further
prior to putting them on the vehicles.
Ed Gotthardt noted that the contract on the
old phones has been cancelled.
2.
Because of
work schedule, will be unable to attend the October meeting.
X: Vice President's Report - Larry Wagner
1.
Updated members on replacing sign on
Hwy 360. Would like a committee of
three to research this, and also to determine if a grant could tie into some of
the cost.
Anticipate the sign costing between $3000.00 and $5000.00. Committee will
consist of
Jeff Newsome, Paul Ryan, Pam Townshend
and Larry Wagner. Larry Wagner will chair
the committee.
Angela
Yerby noted the Auxiliary should be consulted prior to final decision being made
on the sign.
2.
The County will soon have a part time
grant writer. We may be able to utilize
this service from time to time.
XI: Building Committee - Ed Gotthardt noted the ice machine must be replaced. We are in he process of researching for the best product.
XII: Cadet Report - Judy Cook
1. Thanked everyone for their support with the recent car wash.
2.
The Cadets have been approached to see
if they want to sell fruit
this fall. FFA will no longer be doing
this.
XIII: Auxiliary Report - Linda Wilson announced bake sales are scheduled for September and 16 November. Bingo will be held on 5 October. The chicken dinner is now scheduled for 28 October.
