PASTOR'S MESSAGE

Page 1

The Purpose Driven Life Campaign has concluded and from all indications, it was a great blessing for all involved.  Many lives have been touched and changed.  Many folks have grown closer to the Lord Jesus.  Some are rising up to assume their God-given purpose. The celebration time on Feb. 22 was a great time together as some folks shared what reading and studying this material did for them.

Where do we go from here?  Of course, we have no intentions of letting what we have learned not be put to practice.  That is where the small group sessions come in. The small groups are where folks get to know and love one another. At the same time they are able to study God's Word and grow in their relationship with Him.

There are number of opportunities to get involved in a small group, Sunday School is one of them. Those who haven't plugged in to this opportunity for spiritual growth need to do so. This is a time and place where you can develop friendships and fellowship and study with your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Wednesday night Bible study is another opportunity for small group involvement.  We are enlarging the Wednesday night opportunity by developing a small group session for the ladies as they study one of Beth Moore's books that deals with the woman's spiritual growth. I will also be leading a Bible study for those who are not in the Beth Moore group. Mrs. Judi
Freeman will be leading the women's group.

To help support and meet the spiritual needs of some very special people, another small group led by Mrs. Jane Grimes will begin for widows and divorcees. Mrs. Grimes who lost her husband to brain cancer a few years back is an able leader for this group.  It should be a real blessing for those involved.

There are also other small groups like the Baptist Women's Group known as the WMU, that meets on the first Tuesday of each month, or the Baptist men's group that meets on the second Sunday of each month. Both of these groups are opportunities to get involved in mission projects that will help you enlarge your boundaries of outreach.

For the youth and young adults, there are also opportunities in small group settings. For the children and youth, there are the Wednesday night meetings that offer  an opportunity to study God's Word and get to know and love other young people. For the singles and young adults, there is a small group that meets with Jeff on Monday nights .

For more information on how you can get involved in any of these small groups, just contact me or Pastor Jeff.  We both are looking forward to great things happening in our church in the days ahead. God bless you all!
