1.   Start Netscape and open the email program ("Messenger")
 2.   Click Edit->Preferences
 3.   Click the + next to "Mail and Newsgroups"
 4.   Click "Mail Servers" 
 5.   Under the "Outgoing mail server"....
 6.   Enter  smtp.rivnet.net   in the "Outgoing (SMTP) mail server" window
 7.   Enter your username in the "Outgoing mail server user name" window 
                         (lowercase only - do not enter your email address, only the username)
                 Your username is the part of your email address before the @rivnet.net
 8.   Click OK

NOTE: Netscape version 4.x will NOT remember your SMTP password, so you may have to enter your password when you send email using this version of Netscape.  We strongly recommend that you upgrade to Netscape 7.x or higher, or use Microsoft's "Outlook Express" for email.  You may download the newer Netscape by clicking here.
 

1)   Open Netscape Mail
2)   Click Edit (at top of screen)
3)   Click Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings
4)   On left hand side select Outgoing Server (SMTP) by clicking on it
5)   Put check into "Use Name and Password"
6)   Enter your username  (lowercase only - do not enter your email address, only the username)
                 Your username is the part of your email address before the @rivnet.net
7)   Click OK
