RiverNet is going to be using a NEW DNS server.  Most RiverNet customers do not need to change anything, however, you should check to be sure your TCP/IP settings are correct.  The information below shows you how to check/change your settings. If you have Vista, then you would have already been setup properly and do not need to review or make any changes.
 

TCP IP Settings for Windows XP

The instructions for previous versions of Windows are similar, but we do not have detailed screens for earlier versions of Windows.

1. Open the network connections by clicking on  and then double click the control panel and follow the steps below,
or put your mouse over "Connect To" and click on "Show all connections" and skip right to step 4.

2. In the control panel select Network and Internet Connections. If your control panel does not look like the one below, select Category View from the left hand menu.

3. Select Network Connections from the Control Panel Icons Section.

4. Right Click on the RiverNet Icon and select (left click) Properties. Please Note that your dialup connection may be named something different.

Click on the Networking Tab

5. This will open the Network Properties Sheet. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it then click the Properties Button.

6. Make sure the following settings are set for the TCP/IP Properties. Check that the Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically is set.  You should NOT have any numbers in any boxes on the screen below.

7. Click OK the set the changes.
8. Click OK to close the RiverNet Properties window.
9. Close the Network Connections window.
